Page 28 - Clippings

Upper clipping: "A Mountain Home. This cabin is neither better nor worse than the average dwelling in the Smokies. The boards and shingles are split from the log." Also handwritten caption: "Western Monteith's House."

Lower clipping: "Quill Rose and his mowing machine - famous bear hunter of Eagle Creek - typical home North Carolina Backwoodsman" Edited by hand to replace the word "machine" with "blade."

Upper photographs: "'Blockade' Still-house (The laurel had to be parted to get this much of a picture)

Lower left photograph: "Moonshine Still ('Blockade' whiskey was being made in this still when photo was taken)"

Lower right photograph: "Quill's Blacksmith-shop (left) and Corn-mill. (The blower for the forge is a small wheel run by water)"
