Cherokee Agency, A.T.
      August 25th, 1829

 SIR -- By the annexed copy of a General Order from the War Department, you will perceive what is requisite to entitle you to a residence within the limits of the Cherokee Nation.  That you may avoid what it prohibits, and do whatever it enjoins, I have deemed it my duty to make it known to you; and am,
 Respectfully, Your obt servant
